As reported by GBC and RugbyPass, Rugby Europe has confirmed the Gibraltar Rugby Football Union as its 49th member following a decisive vote at its 107th General Assembly in Alicante, ending a 15-year campaign for full recognition. The decision means Gibraltar’s men’s and women’s national sides will finally be eligible for official Test rugby, Rugby Europe competitions and development funding, with union figures hailing the move as a “landmark win” that will turbo-charge the game’s growth and give young players a genuine international pathway.
