Having successfully run a series of local Vets Tournaments over the last 10 years Marbella Rugby Club has joined forces with Rugby Tour Spain to bring a festival of vets rugby to the region. Rugby Tour Spain will use its global reach and contacts within the rugby sector to bring international teams to the festival.
In 2023 there were 8 teams from Spain and the UK taking part in the 1-day tournament with Kidderminster Carolians Vets winning the trophy.

From 2024 the International Marbella +35 Vets Festival will take place on the 4th & 5th of May over 2 days, there will be 16 teams participating from all over Europe and Africa as well as top local Spanish teams.
It will be a Festival of Rugby, with a definite party atmosphere, fun rugby, DJs, Argentinian BBQ, entertainment, fancy dress, trophies, enjoyment and friendships made and renewed, in fact, a classic rugby weekend.
The matches will be 15 a side, 35 years plus, 10 minutes each way, and contact rugby with rolling subs.
By 2025 we aim to grow the Festival into a 24-team international tournament with 2 categories, the Main Tournament and the Social Tournament.
The vision for the future: With the help of all our contributors, such as Marbella Rugby Club, Marbella Town Hall and our sponsors, we want to make this festival into a global event in the next 5 years.
